Partnerships Are Part of Our Vision
Neighbor Ride is fortunate to partner with so many amazing organizations and community groups. Among them are two that focus on vision…
Over the years, several of Neighbor Ride’s passengers have been involved with a Low Vision Group that meets at the Bain Center – one as a volunteer leader, others as participating members. Beyond getting these individuals to weekly meetings, our drivers recently had the pleasure of collaborating with the group by providing the “wheels” needed for a field trip to the Loan Closet of Howard County, followed by lunch at Noodles & Company. Yep, Neighbor Ride drivers can “caravan” to support small group outings too!
Knowing that many of our vision-related trips are for annual exams, Neighbor Ride established a partnership with iTNAmerica, a nonprofit supporting sustainable, community-based transportation for seniors through a national transportation network. As part of iTN’s Rides in Sight program, Neighbor Ride receives grant funding that allows us to subsidize the cost of vision-related rides for seniors. We see great things ahead as this program expands in coming years!
