Basket Bingo was a rip-roaring success. 194 people attended this fun event and we raised $9,689 which is a 20% increase over last year. Thanks to all who attended and volunteered to make this event a success.
Neighbor Ride Receives $5,000 Star Award for Distinction
The National Volunteer Transportation Center (NVTC) has designated Neighbor Ride as a 2016 STAR Award for Distinction recipient. The award acknowledges Neighbor Ride as an outstanding volunteer transportation program.
They would like to thank our volunteer drivers by providing the award-winning AARP Smart Driver course at no cost. Many insurance companies provide a multi-year discount to those who take the course. We will send a separate email regarding the details of this program shortly.
NEW Aging in Place Tax Credit-Deadline Extended
The deadline to apply for the newly created Aging-in-Place Tax Credit has been extended to September 1. To be eligible for the credit, a Howard County property owner must be either: at least 65 years old and have lived in the same dwelling for the last 40 years; OR, be at least 65 years old and a retired member of our Armed Forces.
