Volunteering as a Driver

STEP 1: Attend an Orientation

Learn the ins and outs of our process and and our easy-to-use database to see if driving for us will work for you. Schedule your 45-minute Orientation at Join Our Team.

STEP 2: Accepting a Ride

Once you have attended orientation and your paperwork is complete, accept a ride that fits your schedule. It’s as easy as logging in to our online database or clicking a ride request from our email list, or calling the office. Daytime, evening and weekend opportunities are available. You can even bring your children for a wonderful inter-generational volunteer experience.

STEP 3: Completing the Ride

You will drive your personal vehicle to your passenger’s home and help them into your vehicle. Enjoy conversation as you take them to their destination. After you drop them off – the time is yours. Return at the pre-arranged time and drive your passenger home. Say goodbye until next time.

STEP 2: Accepting the Delivery Ride

Choose the one-way delivery ride that is convenient to your home or office. These deliveries are from various Howard County sites and are always on weekdays.

STEP 3: Completing Your Delivery

Drive to the pick-up location. Pick up items, and deliver them to the front door of the client’s residence.
