The Driver – Volunteer Newsletter July 2023

by | Jul 17, 2023 | Volunteer Newsletters

In the early morning of 7/13 we spotted Nancy Campbell, pictured here with client  Gwendolyn Thompson.  Nancy is celebrating her two year anniversary with Neighbor Ride this month.

We were happy to “catch” our volunteer driver, Debbie Daniels, in action this month.  She is pictured her with client Anne Burns.  Debbie has been driving for Neighbor Ride for three years.

NOTES FROM THE ROAD

Road Closure Notice: Beginning on or about Monday, July 10th , Old Columbia Pike from Tollhouse Road to Main Street in Ellicott City, will be closed to all-thru traffic from 9am-4pm, as part of the ongoing water main replacement project along Old Columbia Pike. Weather permitting, it is expected to reopen on or about Monday, August 7th. Driver Joan shared two new thoughts” I found having a seatbelt extender for front and back seats made things easier for my passengers and easier for me if I had to help them with it.  Cost about $20.”

“When driving people to appointments at 10710 Charter Drive, it is much easier to do drop off and pick up on the lower (ground floor) level.  You can see the entrance better and there are more places to park and watch for them to come out.” If you have a tip you would like to share with our drivers please email it to: volunteer@neighborride.org.
