As National Volunteer Month has now come and gone, we wanted to share what a pleasure it was throughout the month to celebrate our volunteers and to connect with potential future volunteers!

Tremendous Gratitude for Our Current Volunteers

Last month, we announced the 2025 Volunteer Hall of Fame inductees! These volunteers have demonstrated unwavering commitment and service, and are a testament to the power of the simple act of neighbors helping neighbors!

Celebrating Our Volunteers

We showed our gratefulness and pride by distributing yard signs and hosting a Volunteer Appreciation Event at Cedar Lane Park, where we proudly honored our Hall of Fame inductees. It was great to see so many of you in attendance for a morning filled with well-deserved recognition and gratitude.

We also hosted a dinner to thank our Ride Coordinators for their weekly behind-the-scenes assistance, making it possible for seniors to be matched with volunteers for rides each and every day of the year!

Andrew was also out on the roads last month catching our volunteers in action with our “Volunteer Spottings” – snapping pictures and handing out coffee tumblers and coffee shop gift cards!

Growing our Volunteer Base

Members of our staff and board were also busy last month out in the community working hard to recruit new volunteers.  We attended two Volunteer Recruitment events. We appreciate St. John’s Baptist Church and Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center opening their doors to Neighbor Ride and their support of our mission.

Looking ahead, our need for passionate volunteers will only continue to grow. As we expand our programs and outreach, we hope you’ll stay involved and help us welcome new faces into our community of volunteers. Together, we can Drive our Community!

With appreciation for all you do,

Bruce, Patrice and Andrew
