Riders
Neighbor Ride’s volunteer drivers provide trusted, reliable transportation for Howard County residents, ages 60 and older.
STEP 1: Register
Print the registration forms below or call us to receive your registration packet by mail. Once you fill out the application and establish your account, we will call to confirm your materials have been received, and you can begin scheduling your rides.
STEP 2: Schedule Your Ride
Use our online Ride Match Portal or call us at least three full business days before your ride is needed. Whether you need to go to the doctor, participate in faith activities, do your shopping or make a social call, we’ll match you with a driver to get you there and back.
Traveling with a companion?
There are no additional fees for anyone riding with you to and from the same location.
STEP 3: Confirmation
Our staff will touch base with you after scheduling your ride and the day before your trip to ensure every detail has been addressed.
STEP 4: Take Your Trip
Your volunteer driver will arrive on time to pick you up and take you to your destination. Each of our drivers are members of the Howard County community and have been thoroughly vetted, received a criminal background check, attended orientation and passed a driving record check to ensure your safety.
STEP 5: Repeat!
It’s that easy. You can set up a reoccurring trip if you have a weekly or monthly appointment, or you can notify us when you’re ready to ride again. Riders are eligible for a maximum of 12 rides per month.
