We Need Your Help: Driver Referral Challenge
During National Volunteer Month, we will be starting our new 25 Driver Referral Challenge to encourage more county residents to volunteer with Neighbor Ride. Our board members will be displaying yard signs at their homes and will be placing magnets on their vehicles to help spread the word. We encourage you to participate – we will have drawings at the end of April with prizes including BINGO tickets and a grand prize gift card!
Our referral data shows that the car magnets are a wonderful recruitment tool for Neighbor Ride.
On the 17th of each month, we ask that all volunteers display their magnet on the cars throughout the day.

Exciting News – We’re Hiring!
In September 2024, our board of directors approved a new strategic plan for FY25-FY27. This plan focuses on increasing the number of passengers and volunteers as we continue to serve Howard County’s growing need for older adult transportation services. In addition, it directs internal investments in staffing to:
- Achieve these goals
- Innovate and expand services to better respond to external needs
- Ensure the business continuity of Neighbor Ride’s operations
Neighbor Ride is looking to expand its staffing to meet the demands of our organization. We are seeking a full-time Strategic Development Director to bring a forward-thinking perspective to our organization, manage donor relationships, lead fundraising activities, seek grants and scholarships, and oversee our marketing and communications.
