A Month of Gratitude: Thank You to Our Volunteers
Last month, Neighbor Ride celebrated National Volunteer Month, dedicated to honoring volunteers and encouraging volunteerism throughout the month.
To show our gratefulness and pride, we distributed yard signs and hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Event at Cedar Lane Park, where we proudly recognized our Hall of Fame inductees (see full list on page 3). We hosted a special dinner for our ride coordinators as a thank you for their weekly behind-the-scenes assistance, making it possible for our older adults to be matched with volunteers for rides each and every day of the year.
Our volunteers weren’t the only ones out on the roads. Program Manager Andrew Burkowske was catching our drivers in action with our “volunteer spottings”, snapping photos and handing out coffee tumblers and gift cards as a token of our appreciation.
Looking ahead, our need for passionate volunteers continues to grow. We hope you’ll continue to welcome new faces into our volunteer community. Together, we can drive our community.
‘The Rider’ is Neighbor Ride’s quarterly newsletter, dedicated to the incredible older adults we serve. We want your feedback! Let us know what you would like to see in future issues by sending us an email at community@neighborride.org.
