Help Us Find More Amazing Volunteers!
Neighbor Ride has been on a volunteer recruitment roll this month—but we could use your help spreading the word! You might have seen our videos on social media with clients, volunteers, and friends of Neighbor Ride sharing their stories.
Here are a few easy ways to help:
⇒ Like and share Neighbor Ride’s volunteer posts—and add a quick note about why you love volunteering
⇒ Tag a few friends and challenge them to join you as volunteers
⇒ Post a photo of yourself behind the wheel or showing off your car magnet
⇒ Share this recruitment image with your own personal message. Just click and it will open in a new window so you can save it as a jpg for your feed.
Extra credit (totally optional, but could be fun!)
⇒ Record a short video sharing why you volunteer with Neighbor Ride

Mark your 2026 calendars for Magnet Days!
On the 17th of each month, we ask that all volunteers display their magnet on their car throughout the day.
Our Inclement Weather Policy Is Your Inclement Weather Policy
If you are comfortable driving, make a second call to the passenger the day of the ride to confirm that they still want to go.
If you are not comfortable driving, please call the NR office (Emergency Line is available 24/7). The office will notify your client.
Neighbor Ride does NOT follow the Howard County School or Government cancellation policy, but if your ride destination is a school, library, or a government office, they will follow any delayed opening/cancellation.
If the ride is to a 50+ Center, call the Inclement Weather/Emergency Status Line (410) 313-7777 for status updates regarding the Howard County 50+ Centers.
If the ride is canceled, be sure to email NR and let us know, so we can take the ride out of the Ride Match system.
We are currently looking for a Bingo Event Chairperson for our popular event on Saturday, May 2nd.
If you have experience with silent auction baskets, we have the job for you! Stipend will be paid, and last year’s chairperson is available to consult.
Please reach out to Patrice at volunteer@neighborride.org if you’re interested or for more information. It’s a really fun event!!!!
Welcome, New Volunteers!

Join us for an evening of musical connections that ripple across centuries! Like waves lapping against distant shores, this program traces how ideas, inspirations, and musical innovations flow from one generation to the next. We’ll follow the currents from a poet’s opium dream to a composer’s namesake, from Scottish seas to Bach’s Resurrection, proving that in music, what goes around comes around— sometimes in gloriously unexpected ways.

Fuel Our Future: Ways to Give
Great news! Our annual appeal hit its $115,000 goal, made possible by your generosity. We’re so grateful to everyone who supported us with their time and donations.
We’re also proud to share: Neighbor Ride has earned the 2026 Platinum Seal of Transparency — the highest recognition from Candid, the organization that tracks and shares information about nonprofits across the United States.
What does that mean? It means we don’t just talk about what we do — we openly share how we do it, who leads us, and how we measure our impact.
