Now Showing: Our New Short Film
Every Ride Has a Story
You’ve seen clips of these interviews so far, but now we’d like to share the full video of our new short film with you — Every Ride Has a Story.
We hope you enjoy hearing from volunteers and clients about what Neighbor Ride means to them!
What a Great BINGO!
Our 12th annual BINGO fundraiser was a huge success, attended by almost 200 people and supported by generous sponsors and in-kind donations from our community. With 24 games, there were a lot of opportunities to win! This event celebrates our whole Neighbor Ride community — clients, volunteers, staff, donors, and their families and friends, as well as community members — all came out to have a great time and support a great cause.
Thank you to our sponsors and especially our marquee sponsor, Community Action Council of Howard County. CAC President Tracy Broccolino spoke about the long-time collaboration between our two organizations, mobilizing Neighbor Ride volunteers to make Howard County Food Bank deliveries for Howard County seniors.
Connecting With Faith Communities
Building Our Volunteer Network
Do you have a connection with a local faith community and can help us reach out to speak with its leadership?
At Neighbor Ride, we know that caring for one another is at the heart of a strong community — and that’s a value deeply shared by our local faith communities.
Congregations across Howard County are natural hubs of compassion, service, and connection. Many already emphasize helping neighbors in need, supporting older adults, and putting faith into action. By reaching out to these communities, we’re connecting with people who are already motivated by a desire to make a difference.
Faith communities also bring together individuals from all walks of life—retirees with flexible schedules, working adults looking to give back, and young people eager to serve. This diversity helps us build a strong, sustainable volunteer base.

Out and About
Neighbor Ride was at the 2026 OAI Showcase: Your Circle of Connection event, hosted by the Howard County Office on Aging and Independence at the Mall in Columbia on May 1.
Board Members Paul Gleichauf and Dianne Polson Oliver, and Program Manager, Andrew Burkowske, manned the table for the day. They had some great conversations and recruited both new clients and new volunteers!
Reminder: The 17th is Magnet Day
On the 17th of each month, we ask that all volunteers display their magnet on their car throughout the day. Thank you!
