Our Executive Director Bruce Fulton joined Baltimore-Washington Financial Advisors for a special episode of Healthy, Wealthy-Wise at their in-house podcast studio. BWFA has been a long-time supporter of Neighbor Ride as the sponsor of our Volunteer Program, and you will recognize Sandy Hornor, Managing Director, Wealth Management & Executive Manager, who has attended many Neighbor Ride Volunteer Appreciation Events as an active participant and speaker.

Along with Tessa Hall, Media and Communications Specialist, this great conversation covers how Neighbor Ride addresses one of the key aspects of health and wellness for retired people — purpose, connection, and fulfillment. Bruce also discusses the power of partnerships in advancing Neighbor Ride’s mission and expanding its reach.

If you don’t have time to watch the whole video, check out these segments:

[13:12] Neighbors Helping Neighbors – Community partnerships strengthen support networks for older adults.

“We’re all connected in many ways,” Sandy says as he discusses how collaboration between nonprofits also provides added benefits for Howard County residents; BWFA’s support of several partners of Neighbor Ride creates a multiplier effect. BWFA supports both Neighbor Ride and the Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center, and the partnership between NR and the Community Care Team at JHHMC brings better services to their patients both when leaving the hospital and when they’re back in the community.

[15:08] “The Magic Is in the Ride” – With Neighbor Ride, transportation becomes a meaningful social experience.

“It’s not just the destination; it’s the journey.” Sandy coins a new tagline for Neighbor Ride! Or as host Tessa puts it, “Neighbor Ride is a social-first, community-minded rideshare program.”

Thank you, BWFA, for this wonderful opportunity and for your support of Neighbor Ride!
