On November 14, 2024, Neighbor Ride held its 20th Anniversary Celebration to commemorate two decades of providing safe, reliable transportation to older adults in Howard County.

The event was held at Apple Ford Lincoln in Columbia, Maryland with over 130 guests, including staff, current and former board members, volunteer drivers, riders, founding board members, sponsors, donors, and hall of famer volunteers. Guests enjoyed delicious hors d’oeuvres catered by Cured 18th & 21st, spirits donated by Total Wine & More, and flavorful, non-alcoholic beverages provided by Sobar as they reminisced down memory lane and reunited as neighbors.

Proclamations were presented to Neighbor Ride by Maryland State Government representatives, including Senator Guy Guzzone, Delegate Jessica Feldmark, Senator Clarence Lam, and Delegate Terri Hill. Howard County Council Chair Deb Jung and Chief of Staff Angela Cabellon presented Neighbor Ride with a special declaration, establishing November 14th as an official day for Neighbor Ride (“Neighbor Ride Day”) in honor of the organization’s significant impact. Additionally, Neighbor Ride recognized Apple Ford Lincoln for its long-time partnership, presenting President Chip Doetsch with a custom-framed car magnet in appreciation of the dealership’s continued support.

Neighbor Ride has completed 250,000 rides to date with over 300 volunteers. With the community’s continued support, older adults can enjoy the full benefits of being connected to people, services, and activities that add meaning and value to their lives.

This year’s Neighbor Ride Annual Campaign is currently underway. Please consider investing in keeping Howard County’s older adults connected to our community.
