New Hall of Fame Volunteers
Three cheers for the newest inductees into the Volunteer Hall of Fame! We welcomed ten new members, bringing our Hall of Fame total to 61 volunteers who have shown unwavering commitment, service, and care. Click below to learn more about our Hall of Fame.
Seven attended the Volunteer Appreciation Event in person to receive their certificate (and applause!). Pictured above, l to r: Fred Bondroff, Paula Schultz, Debbie Jaskulek, Sally Parker, Deborah Hasan, Hattie Katkow, and Tom Sleight. New Hall of Famer Carole Graves (pictured below) came by the office and let us snap her photo with Bruce! And let’s not forget the newest Hall of Famers not pictured: Stephanie Carpentier and Jean Weinstein.
Andrew was on the road last week, singing the praises of our new Hall of Famers by putting yard signs in front of their houses!
20 Years of Service
We also celebrated three volunteers (who are already Hall of Famers) for 20 years of service with Neighbor Ride, joining an even smaller group of only seven volunteers with the same tenure. Now that’s dedication!
20 years of thank-yous to Marilyn O’Loughlin, Roy Appletree, and Pat Everhart (pictured below).
Volunteer Appreciation Event
Last Monday, April 20th, we were overwhelmed that 70 volunteers came out for the Volunteer Appreciation Event!
Sandy Hornor from Baltimore-Washington Financial Advisors, the generous sponsor of our Volunteer Program, gave a presentation about their longstanding partnership with Neighbor Ride, and we also heard from Kami Bennett from the Howard County Office of Aging and Independence.
Bruce and Patrice led the honors for our newest Hall of Fame inductees and presented years-of-service pins, most importantly to our 20-year volunteers, pictured above. We also discussed key initiatives for Neighbor Ride, including an engaging exchange on the functions of a new mobile app for drivers.
Thank you to everyone who joined us — it was wonderful to see you!
Celebrating Neighbor Ride Stories
We’re excited to share a new film about Neighbor Ride with you: Every Ride Has a Story, which highlights the experiences of Neighbor Ride clients and volunteers.
You may have seen excerpts from it on our social media this fall and winter, but we hope you’ll enjoy this longer version that reminds us of the importance of your work on the roads every day for our clients.
